Saying Goodbye to Elsa: The Heart of Terrier Cvlt
On Wednesday 11.27.24, at 1:30 p.m., my family and I said our final goodbyes to Elsa, our sweet Boston Terrier and the soul of Terrier Cvlt. After years of battling health challenges with resilience and grace, Elsa passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people who loved her most.
I am heartbroken. When she took her last breath, it felt like the wind was knocked out of me. My wife held her close in her final moments, while Autumn and I stood by her side, offering our love and comfort. Those last moments were peaceful, but they were also a nightmare come true. My world feels so much darker without her in it.
For 12 incredible years, Elsa wasn’t just my pet—she was my shadow, my confidant, and my muse. Starting Terrier Cvlt in her honor pulled me out of my comfort zone and into something bigger than myself. It gave me purpose and a way to connect with so many others. Elsa inspired everything. She was strong and brave right until the end, and I owe her more than I could ever repay.
She wasn’t just the heart of Terrier Cvlt; she was my best friend. She came to work with me every day, traveled wherever I went, and gave me companionship in life’s ups and downs. She was there for Autumn during tough times, a steady source of comfort and love. Autumn loved her more than anything, and we’re both struggling with the void she’s left behind.
But Elsa’s spirit isn’t gone. I promise to keep her memory alive by continuing to raise money for animals and making donations in her name. She brought so much love and light into our lives, and it’s only right to share that legacy with others.
Most of the relationships in my life today only exist because of Elsa. Whether it was her presence at events or the online community that grew around Terrier Cvlt, Elsa connected me with so many incredible people. To her fans around the world: thank you for your love, your messages, and your support. Losing her is devastating, but knowing we’re not alone in our grief brings some comfort.
This past Saturday, Autumn came home from college, and we spent the day with Elsa. We bought a fake Christmas tree and stayed in for a cozy holiday photo shoot. Those photos are something I’ll cherish forever—one last beautiful memory of our time together as a family.
Elsa, thank you for everything. Thank you for being my shadow, for your unconditional love, and for inspiring me to be better. Life will be so much harder without you, but I’ll carry you in my heart every single day.
A promise is a promise.
