Blue Bomber
I am beyond excited to launch the Blue Bomber Collection featuring my favorite little girl Ivy all dressed up like Mega Man. I am a huge dork and fucking proud of it.
For those who know me, toys, video games, and monster magazines have always been my thing. I grew up an 80s kid obsessed with Nintendo. I was even Captain Nintendo in my middle school newsletter, The Wixon Waves. If you left video game questions in the Captain Nintendo shoebox in the library, I would answer them the following week. Nobody ever knew it was me. The poor Italian kid with fake Nikes and no Dad had enough reasons to get laughed at, but that never stopped me.
To this day those games still have some of my favorite character designs and soundtracks. My other great love is dogs. All dogs are cool, but Boston Terriers are something special. And Ivy, she is everything to me.
I will spare you all the heartbreaking details, but her brain tumor is winning this horrific battle. Our sweet Ivy will not be with us much longer. Another horrible conversation for another time. I have noticed over the years, especially after Elsa passed away, that my creativity disappears when I am stressed about our dogs or grieving them, so I do not see myself doing much more, if anything else, this year.
I have been working on this Blue Bomber design for a while and planned to launch it for Christmas, but I want us all to enjoy Ivy and all of her cute designs with her while she is still here with us. (And her meds are not cheap.)
Her trip to the ER last night was meant to be her last, but somehow she has been given another chance. I am shocked she is still with me as I write this and I am so thankful. Not for the farts, but for the snorts.
