Around The Fur

If you know me, you know how deep my love runs for Deftones and everything Chino Moreno touches. That obsession started when I was a teenager at a horror convention in Boston, MA. I had just shared a few words outside with Doug Bradley aka Pinhead, then I wandered into a Tower Records looking for some new tunes from the big city and I grabbed Adrenaline just because the cover looked cool. I had no idea what it sounded like, but it completely changed my life forever.

Since then, I’ve seen them live more times than I can count. Warped Tour the following year where Chino rode by on his BMX and chatted with my friends and I. SXSW in Austin. TD Garden in Boston. Most recently, I took my family to London to see them at Crystal Palace.

Deftones, Team Sleep, Crosses, I’m there for all of it. With Ivy being so sick, I’ve been in a rough place and haven't been creating at all. But this deep dive back into Deftones and my excitement for their new album has pulled me out of my funk for a minute to work on a Terrier Cvlt x Deftones x Ivy piece that has me grinning ear to ear.

This is for Ivy. This is for Chino. This is for anyone who finds beauty in the ugliness.
